Health Access

“To facilitate access to free and quality health insurance schemes for vulnerable individuals and low-income households.”

Many families in Nigeria go without basic health coverage because the cost is out of reach. This programme connects vulnerable individuals and low-income households with health insurance schemes they could not otherwise access. We identify eligible people, help them understand what is available, and support them through the enrolment process so that they gain real, usable coverage.

Status: This programme is being set up. Heart Gate Foundation was incorporated on 13 August 2026, and we are currently putting the operational structures in place. We will announce when applications open.

Livelihood Support

“To provide business support to distressed individuals seeking to rebuild sustainable livelihoods.”

This programme is for people who have the ability and determination to support themselves but lack the resources to get started or to recover after a serious setback. We provide practical business support — whether that means materials, equipment, working capital or guidance — to help them build or rebuild a sustainable livelihood. The goal is independence, not dependence.

Status: This programme is being set up. We are defining the application criteria and support processes. Updates will be posted on our news page as they happen.

Food Relief

“To distribute food assistance and relief materials to underprivileged persons.”

This programme distributes food and relief materials to people who cannot meet their basic needs. It covers both ongoing food insecurity — families who regularly go without enough to eat — and acute situations where communities need immediate support after a crisis. We aim to reach people directly, with clear records of what was distributed, where, and to whom.

Status: This programme is being set up. We are establishing distribution logistics and identifying communities in greatest need. Progress will be published on our news page.

Education Grants

“To promote access to quality education by facilitating scholarships, bursaries, and educational grants for financially disadvantaged students.”

This programme facilitates scholarships, bursaries and educational grants for students who cannot afford their school or university fees. Access to education should not depend on a family's financial position. We work to identify students with the ability and commitment to succeed in their studies, then connect them with funding that allows them to stay in school.

Status: This programme is being set up. We are developing the eligibility criteria and grant application process. We will announce when applications open.

How programmes are governed

All four programmes operate under the authority of our constitution, which defines the charitable objects above. The Board of Trustees oversees each programme, approves spending, and ensures that every activity stays within the foundation's registered purposes. Financial records for each programme will be published in our impact ledger and in our annual reports once they are produced. Full details of our governance structure are on the transparency page.
